NYE 2014

Spent this NYE a little different.. in a house full of kids, balloons and sparkling cider! Our awesome friends Matt & Taylor hosted NYE at their new house and instead of jello shots and kegs (the old days) it was fruit trays and adult onezies.

Weekend Get Away

Ty and I took a much needed weekend getaway to Austin! I LOVE my H-Town, don't get me wrong, but I do love the fresh air, shopping and pizza Austin has to offer. With a "city view" "dog-friendly" suite at the Hilton downtown, Ty, Cooper and I had no problem relaxing!!

We googled "Dog Parks in Austin" and found THE most PERFECT place to take Coop!

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND if you are around the area to check out Red Bud Isle! Tons of trails and wooded areas for the dogs to roam and not to mention it's surrounded by water. (Coop LOVES water) We managed to make friends with some other lab owners and Cooper was showing off his swimming skillz. The day couldn't have been more perfect.. Weather and all!

Another Austin winner was this amazing place.. MOONSHINE! First off, I was starving and low and behold as soon as you get to the table they bring you popcorn so this preggo was one happy camper. Seriously EVERYTHING we ordered from the artichoke dip to my steak and potatos to Tyler's chicken and waffles.. SOOO GOOD! We agreed to make a trip back JUST to go eat there! Needless to say halfway thru dinner, I had to unbutton my pants and let the belly breathe.. Real Classy Ash!

The key to my heart has been and always will be PIZZA.. just good ol' fashioned brick oven pizza with a root beer and side of ranch. This place...LEGIT! Sooo good!! An Austin MUST yall for real!

Last stop of the trip.. this famous wall I see in everyone's pics from Austin. We randomly came across this as we were shopping down South Congress and I freaked out.. not sure the story behind it, but glad we can put this pic in our collection! We also visited the cutest little candy store.. and the ones where you can make your own bag are my favorite! My absolute favorite candy though... SOUR BELTS! So as you can see, my baby daddy got me enough to hold me over for the ride home.

Ashley - Tyler and Cooper

Road Trippin'

     Well Christmas was a hit.. So much love and quality family time. Now we are on the road to Austin for a family getaway. Tyler booked us a nice hotel and we will check out some new places to eat, shopping and hit up some dog parks with Cooper! I got us all packed up, packed snacks (my "mommy skillz" kickin in), Ty gassed up the Range and we are headed out. This little vaca was much needed before the new year begins.

     I am trying to take in every moment we have together. Just yesterday we slept in till about 10'ish, rolled outta bed, no makeup, hair up and sweats.. Headed to get breakfast at Goode Co. Taqueria.. As we sat at our table waiting for our order to be made Tyler said, "Do you realize that we only have 7 more months of this life and it all changes?! We won't be able to just roll outta bed and grab food at our leisure." It's true, he's right. I didn't think of it like that but, now that it's been brought to my attention I will absolutely cherish every minute we have together. 

     Now that the world knows about Baby Holmes (that was SO hard to keep under wraps for as long as we had too) I want to Thank You for all your sweet messages and comments! Please enjoy this blog and follow us along this crazy ride. We have no clue what we are doing, but that's all the fun of it!

     

Tis' the Season

     Christmas is here and I absolutely love being around family. Tyler's family is so big and all his cousins are pregnant and/or have babies! My family is a little smaller, but just as crazy (if not more)... I think the best saying for our families is "We may not have it all together, but TOGETHER we have it ALL"~ No one knows yet, but we are going to make the announcement on Christmas Day! We had some amazing pictures done by my dear friend Stephanie and I couldn't be more thankful for her friendship and talent! Tyler has been great. So helpful around the house, taking care of Cooper, carrying my purse and shopping bags, bringing me ice water at 4am, and very loving (even with my crazy emotions)! As the year comes to an end I am full of excitement for the next couple of months. I will be a busy momma preparing for this baby to come in August. Stay tuned and Merry Christmas to all of you!
